About My Blog

I want to encourage every one of you to read my first post (Something Dear, Dec. 7, 09--the bottom of this page) even if you read nothing else. It gives you a glimpse into what this blog is for and what it is about. I have placed this blog on hold, but please look around. If you have any questions or comments, please email me at educatingorconditioning(at)gmail.com Thanks for visiting. Tiras Charlton

Dear Reader,
I want you to know from the outset that there is a conflict raging in my mind over this blog. Being aware of this conflict will help you put up with things that you might find confusing. There is so much in this book that you should read, know, and understand, but I can't possibly share everything. (I really want to!) If I did, I would be copying the book. As I look through for the most pertinent quotes and information to share with you, I will ever struggle to decide what to post. Hopefully what I share with you will flow and build to give you a good understanding on this subject. If it does not, please comment and I will try and answer any questions. I encourage everyone to download or buy this book and just read it cover to cover. That is the best way for you to grasp this issue in depth. If you can't read the entire book, at least read the first fifty pages.

  1. Hi Tiras

Did you build the blog yourself? It is nicely done.

You have picked an interesting topic to blog about.

I have not read her book, but, am quite familiar with the problems of public schools. I my self got very little true education through the public schools and that was fourty years ago. I am almost wholly self taught. Today, it is much worse and much more manipulative politically, socially and morally and none of it in a good way. My own child went through public school and I had to constantly debrief and re-edicate her throughout her schooling years. It did give her the ability to compare teachings and see the manipulation clearly. In addition I caused the school to create classes specifically for her in advanced subjects and when other students saw what she was doing, they wanted the advanced classes too. As a result she was tasked with teaching these classes to the new kids, many in higher grades than she. You learn very well your subject when you teach it. There were very few resources for home schooling in those days, so I did the best I could for the time. Today is very different, I would not under any circumstances put my child into any public school. My daughter has agreed she would not either when she marries and has a family. We have offered to help as teachers in her effort to home school when that time comes.

You have selected a good cause and something you are passionate about. You can add other things you are passionate about as well, maybe photography or your faith.

    Best wishes with your blog.

  2. Hello Brad B,
Thank you very much for commenting! Regretfully, I did not build it entirely. I did have some say in the looks though. Also, thank you for your encouragement. I just want to help others see what I have seen.

I will be moderating comments, not to filter out ones that I do not agree with, but to make sure that there is nothing unwholesome on this page (Ranting and raving will not be allowed). If you have an opposing view, I want you to comment! We are here to meaningfully search out something that is important.
